This is a gracious single level lifestyle home, with a full basement that holds two or three additional bedrooms and two additional baths. A covered front porch flanked by stone and wood columns adds curb appeal.

The Interior

A cofferd foyer and 10 ft ceilings in the hall make for a dramatic entry to the home.  The nearby stairwell to the basement features floor to ceiling natural wood 6×6 posts and a unique craftsman style rail and baluster system, a focal point of the residence.

The main living area features fireplace framed in stone and built-in cabinets with plenty of room for lots of furniture.  The kitchen boats a work island, a walk-in pantry and built-in locations for the fridge and stand-up freezer.  The screened porch is visible through double full light doors just off the large dining area.  The study, just off the entry features French style pocket doors to allow abundant natural light.

Find the master suite tucked away at the end of the great room featuring a large bedroom, double walk in closets, and luxury bath.  Downstairs find two full baths, two more bedrooms and a studio area that could be converted to a fourth bedroom. The basement rooms are well lit with large windows in daylight framed walls. An ample unfinished space completes the lower level with plenty of room for storage or future expansion.

Green Elements

This house contains a photovoltaic electric power system, solar hot water collection systems, and passive solar design.  The design should qualify for a variety of federal and local energy credit programs.  The electrical system will have the ability to supply utility grade current to the public grid (where applicable).  The hot water heating system is capable of providing approximately 80% of the annual hot water heating requirements for the house.  Passive solar design elements include proper ratio’s for South facing windows and heated living space, appropriately sized overhangs (for cooling in the summer), and an open floor plan for appropriate heat transfer through the house.  Optional wall cavity sizes for 2×4, 2×6, and 2×8 allow for enhanced insulation values in colder climates.

Note: This plan is active solar ready and as such is designed to make the installation of a PV system as easy as possible. The homeowner is required to purchase any necessary equipment.
